Away from the tourist crowd and specially touts. I am too fond of such places. I decided to visit a small place called "Bateshwarnath" near Kahalgaon, Bihar around 44 KMS from Bhagalpur the "silk city". Me and my brother-in-law decided to go there on Bike, as we knew we would need to travel through area's where we might not get good roads (Although to our surprise, the condition of rural roads where much better than National Highway(NH-80), thanks to pradhan mantri gramin rojgar yogana).. Bateshwarnath is a place which just looks like a picture postcard.. River Ganges is in full flow and miles till you can see.. Now the surprising element, when we reached there..we could see some tunnels in the hills.. we inquired from the locals about them.. and came to know that they are mines which were used by British People to take stones for make porcelains, ceramic materials. I got more information on internet the company was bengal potteries..and the mining was done extensively during 1919-1936. We were very eager to go inside and we took a decision.. but nobody knew how long are they and is there any danger inside.. Anyway I used my camera's flash to get some inside view ..We didn't dared to go beyond 50 Meters as it was pitch dark. We came back and I took some photographs of nearby places and started for ruins of vikramshila, which is around 2 KMs from there. Again its hard too believe but the ruins of vikramshila have been carefully maintained.. A very good and well maintained museum which tell you about the history of this place.. No wonder why the kings choose such beautiful places for universities. King Dharmapal established three university.. Vikramshila, Nalanda and one more is in Bangladesh.. Now the problem of such offbeat place is like no arrangements of food and water, Even no transportation..That's pretty sad.. If one needs to be at such lovely places, he would need to arrange all these before and don't expect anything from the such places then only he would be able to enjoy such places. I just sat and held my head in my hands. A quick inventory made of the Credit cards and Debit cards in the wallet. Why did I have to keep them all there? When I use the CC only on weekends? Then search for CC bills for the customer care number and card number. Then for around 2 hours I was calling up hazaar customer care people asking them to block my cards. Repeating my birth date and address over and over. It was tiresome indeed. Most of the customer services were pretty prompt. Some were a bit slow. I also cancelled some cards in this exercise. Cards I rarely use. It was good to know that there has not been any misuse of the card in the 1 day it took me to realize that the cards were gone. I should count my blessings that the thief did not go on a shopping spree with my cards. Now, I don’t have much money on me and it will take then 4-5 days to replace my ATM card. So, I have no option but to borrow money for my day to day expenses. Weekend is just around the corner. Then I realized that I have also lost all my Store loyalty cards, my club membership cards. Humphh.. But the good thing is that all this can be replaced. Still, I did feel a deep sense of loss. It took me around 3 hours of chatting with my newfound online buddies to get over my loss. My new, red wallet, cash, charges for getting new cards issued..just counting my losses because of a stolen wallet. This led me to think about all the losses I have incurred in the recent past.. The Sensex crash has made my investment portfolio shed quite some money.My cell phone display – Some months back my cell phone slipped out of my hand and fell on the curb and the display died. The display cost some 3K and I had to grudgingly shell it out to save a 20K cell phone. I almost lost the above mentioned cell phone, when I forgot it at Pop Tate's. But I can say that the waiters and management is quite honest. I was able to get the phone back. Am I right?” Neeraj asked her immediately when he heard her voice on the other side. “Yes.” “Then I am coming to meet you tomorrow morning and will spend the whole day with you.” “Why are you coming?” Malati was puzzled. “There are many reasons. First, I want to meet the person with whom Neha bonded so well for initial ten years of her life. Second, I want to see the school where my little Neha gained her education and knowledge.
